Albertan singer-songwriter JOAL KAMPS has been performing live music internationally for 20+ years, touring throughout North America and Western Europe – appearing at music festivals, concert series, and many other community events as his self-titled project or in Canadiana duo 'Flint & Feather'.
In addition to his work as a solo artist and instrumentalist, Joal is also an award-winning songwriter, artist mentor, and Arts advocate. Honoured to be one of Alberta’s provincial ‘Artists in Residence / Arts Ambassadors’, Kamps has also been a Banff Centre ‘Musician in Residence’, Canada’s Music Incubator ‘Artist Entrepreneur’, and VIA Rail ‘Artist on Board’.
Joal’ original, cover, and instrumental work is performed on classical guitar and rooted in the Folk music genre – often featuring fingerpicking styled compositions infused with subtle World music flavours. This accessible sound creates the perfect atmosphere for corporate events, weddings, fundraisers, and more.
